空と云は物毎に形なき所、知れざる事を空と見立るなり、勿論空は空にして無なり、有る所を知りて無き所を知る、是空なり、世の中に於て惡敷く見れば、物を 辨へざる處を空と見る處實の空にあらず、皆迷う心なり、此兵法の道に於ても武士として道を行うに士の法を知らざる空にはあらず、色々迷ひ有て詮方なき處を 空と云なれども、是實の空にはあらざるなり、武士は兵法の道を慥かに覺え、其外武藝を能く覺え武士の行ふ道にも暗からず、心の迷ふ所なく、朝々時時に怠ら ず、心意二つの心を研き、觀見二つの眼を磨き、少しも曇り無く迷ひの空の晴たる所是れ實の空と知るべきなり、實の道を知らざる間は佛法によらず世法によら ず、己れゝゝは慥か成る道と思ひ善き事と思へ共、心の直道よりして世の大がねに合せて見る時は其身其身の心贔負、其目ゝゝのひずみによる、實の道には背く 物なり、其心を知て直に成る所を本とし、實の心を道として兵法を廣く行ひ、正敷明に大き成る所を思ひ取て、空を道とし道を空と見る所也

What is called the spirit of the void is where there is nothing. It is not included in man's knowledge. Of course the void is nothingness. By knowing things that exist, you can know that which does not exist. That is the void.
People in this world look at things mistakenly, and think that what they do not understand must be the void. This is not the true void. It is bewilderment.
In the Way of strategy, also, those who study as warriors think that whatever they cannot understand in their craft is the void. This is not the true void.
To attain the Way of strategy as a warrior you must study fully other martial arts and not deviate even a little from the Way of the warrior. With your spirit settled, accumulate practice day by day, and hour by hour. Polish the twofold spirit heart and mind, and sharpen the twofold gaze perception and sight. When your spirit is not in the least clouded, when the clouds of bewilderment clear away, there is the true void.
Until you realize the true Way, whether in Buddhism or in common sense, you may think that things are correct and in order. However, if we look at things objectively, from the viewpoint of laws of the world, we see various doctrines departing from the true Way. Know well this spirit, and with forthrightness as the foundation and the true spirit as the Way. Enact strategy broadly, correctly and openly.
Then you will come to think of things in a wide sense and, taking the void as the Way, you will see the Way as void.
In the void is virtue, and no evil. Wisdom has existence, principle has existence, the Way has existence, spirit is nothingness.
Naturellement le "vide" est néant. Par la connaissance des êtres, on connaît le néant, c'est là le "vide". En général l'idée que l'on a sur le "vide" est fausse. Lorsque l'on ne comprend pas quelque chose on le considère comme "vide" de sens pour soi, mais ce n'est pas un vrai "vide". Tout cela n'est qu'égarement.
Dans la Voie de la tactique, si les samouraïs ne connaissent pas leur Loi pour poursuivre leur Voie, ils ne sont pas "vides". Ils appellent "vide" ce qui est du domaine de l'impasse sous l'effet d'égarements successifs, mais ce n'est pas le vrai "vide".
Les samouraïs doivent apprendre avec certitude la Voie de la tactique, avoir la maîtrise des autres arts martiaux, n'avoir plus aucun point obscur sur la Voie qu'ils doivent pratiquer, n'avoir plus aucun égarement d'esprit, ne jamais se relâcher à aucun moment, depuis le matin. Polir ces deux vertus: sagesse et volonté, aiguiser les deux fonctions de leurs yeux: voir et regarder, et ainsi n'avoir aucune ombre. Alors, les nuages de l'égarement se dissiperont, c'est là le vrai "Vide".
Tant que l'on ne connaît pas la Voie véritable, chacun croit avancer sur le bon chemin et se croit dans le vrai sans s'appuyer sur les lois du Bouddha ni les lois de la terre. Mais lorsque nous les regardons avec les yeux de la Voie véritable de l'esprit et selon les grandes règles du monde humain, on les voit trahir la Voie véritable à cause de leur propre égoïsme et de leur mauvaise vue. Connaissez l'Esprit! Reposez-vous sur le domaine franchement juste! Faites de l'Esprit réel la Voie! Pratiquez largement la tactique! Ne songez qu'à la justice, à la clarté et à la grandeur! Faites du vide la Voie! Et considérez la Voie comme "vide"!
Dans le "Vide", il y a le bien et non le mal. L'intelligence est "être". Les principes sont "être". Les voies sont "être". Mais l'esprit est "Vide".

Điều được xem như tinh túy của “Không” là ở chỗ Không có gì. Điều này không nằm trong tầm nhận thức của con người. Lẽ tất nhiên "Không" có nghĩa là hư vô. Từ việc biết những điều hiện hữu, ta có thể suy ra những điều không hiện hữu. Đó mới là "Không".
Người đời thường nhìn sự việc một cách sai lạc và cho rằng những gì họ không hiểu được là "Không". Thực ra đó không phải là "Không". Đó là hoang mang hư ảo.
Trong Binh pháp cũng vậy, kẻ theo học Đạo binh pháp thường cho rằng tất cả những gì họ không thấu hiểu được trong võ nghệ là "Không". Đó không phải là "Không" đích thực.
Để thủ đắc được Đạo binh pháp như một võ sĩ, ngươi phải chuyên tâm nghiền ngẫm các môn võ nghệ khác và không được để lòng hoang mang chao đảo trong Võ đạo. Với tâm bất động, ngươi hãy chuyên cần đào luyện mỗi ngày, mỗi giờ. Hãy trui rèn cả “tâm” lẫn “trí”, và dũa mài cả “quan” lẫn “kiến”. Khi tâm trí không còn bị mây mờ u ám, khi những đám mây hư ảo đã tan đi, đó mới là “Không” đích thực.Một khi ngươi đã đạt đến “Chân đạo”, dù theo Thiền học hay theo đạo lý thông thường, ngươi sẽ nhận chân rằng mọi việc đã nghiễm nhiên được an bài. Thế nhưng, nếu ta nhìn sự việc một cách khách quan, theo quan điểm các quy luật vận hành vũ trụ, ta sẽ thấy vô số pháp môn đi lệch khỏi Chánh Đạo. Ngươi hãy dày công tìm hiểu tinh ý đó trên nền tảng là lòng chánh trực và để cho chân tâm dẫn đạo. Hãy thực hành Binh pháp với bao dung, trung thực và quảng đại.
Nhờ đó, ngươi sẽ “quan kiến” vạn sự một cách khoáng đạt, coi “Không” là Đạo, và nhiên hậu sẽ thấy Đạo là “Không”.
